For our client, an international company operating in the payments and financial technology sector, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join their team in Sofia.
About the Role:
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the development of a global payment platform supporting prepaid card services. You will work closely with Product and Technology teams, ensuring that business requirements are clearly defined, well-documented, and understood by all stakeholders. Your work will directly support the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions while improving payment processes, system automation, and operational efficiency.
You will play an important role in identifying inefficiencies, proposing improvements, and helping deliver features that enhance both internal operations and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Break down complex features into clear, structured user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and user acceptance of delivered solutions
- Capture and document non-functional requirements such as performance, security, and scalability
- Create visual artefacts (process flows, data flows, use case diagrams) to support communication and clarity
- Identify and document business rules to guide accurate system behaviour
- Analyse and map business processes to identify opportunities for optimisation
- Model and understand data structures to ensure they meet user and business needs
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Clarify requirements for development teams and support defect management and validation
- Conduct discovery activities or spikes to support decision-making and reduce uncertainty
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) through scenario creation, scripting, and coordination
- Assist users in understanding new features and identifying any remaining issues
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience with card payment processes, including transaction lifecycle, authorisation, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and fraud monitoring
- English level – B2/C1
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to model business processes using diagrams, flowcharts, or similar tools
- Proven ability to collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting prioritisation, defining acceptance criteria, and delivering against them
- Comfortable facilitating discussions and guiding stakeholders toward aligned decisions
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
