Role Overview:
Senior Network Support Engineer – Contract Monitoring & Incident Response (Part-Time)
Shift: CET 06:00–15:00
Workload: ~15–20 hours per week within a 40-hour response window
For our client, a software engineering company that specializes in delivering high-quality digital products to international partners, we are seeking a Senior Network Support Engineer for a part-time contract role, focused on monitoring, incident response, and hands-on support across enterprise-grade, low-latency network infrastructure. This role requires a senior professional who can work independently, respond efficiently to incidents, and maintain high operational standards.
While the workload is part-time (15–20 hours/week actively), the position carries full-time responsibility for incident response within the defined shift. Candidates should consider any contractual obligations with current employers before applying.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor network and system infrastructure and respond to incidents within agreed SLAs.

Diagnose and resolve network, server, and connectivity issues.

Execute operational and maintenance tasks as assigned.

Coordinate and guide remote hands for data center operations.

Assist with server-level troubleshooting and basic administration.

Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders regarding incident progress and resolution.
Core Technologies & Environment:

Networking: Ultra-low-latency networking, Layer 1 & Layer 2 switching, cross-connect management, BGP, multicast routing.

Infrastructure/Data Center: Remote rack and server management, power distribution, coordination of cross-connects, direction of remote hands.

Devices & Security: Arista 40k firewalls, Appgate VPN/SDP.

Server OS: Windows Server 2022, Ubuntu Linux.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
Senior-level experience in network support or network engineering.
-
Strong understanding of low-latency networking and switching layers.
-
Comfortable managing both network and server infrastructure.

Excellent incident response and troubleshooting skills.

Reliable, structured, and capable of working independently within early CET hours.

Hands-on experience configuring network devices such as switches.
-
Experience with routing configuration on Linux and/or Windows.

Familiarity with multicast routing is a plus; BGP experience is highly desirable.
