We are partnering with a global payments and financial technology company that is expanding its engineering presence in Bulgaria. As part of this growth, we are looking for a Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to play a key role in building and shaping the company’s SRE capabilities across mission-critical payment and card issuing platforms used globally.
This is a senior, hands-on SRE role with real ownership and impact. You will help establish reliability, observability, and operational excellence practices, working closely with engineering, platform, and cloud teams to improve the stability and resilience of production systems.
What You’ll Be Doing

Build and mature Site Reliability Engineering practices across business-critical platforms.

Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability using tools such as Grafana and log management platforms.

Drive reliability, availability, and performance improvements in production environments.

Lead and contribute to incident analysis, root cause investigations, and prevention strategies.

Work closely with Development, Platform, and Cloud teams to embed reliability into system design.

Support the implementation of automation and resilience patterns to reduce operational risk.

Contribute to global initiatives, including the rollout of monitoring and observability for new platform projects.

Document standards, best practices, and learnings to support long-term platform stability.
What We’re Looking For
-
Strong, hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering or senior DevOps roles with a clear SRE mindset.

Solid background in monitoring, observability, and production systems reliability.

Experience working with cloud-based platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including log analysis and root cause analysis.

Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.

Experience troubleshooting APIs and distributed systems.

Familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).

Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, platform, and non-technical teams.

Calm, structured approach to complex production challenges and long-term improvements.
*Background in payments or financial services is a plus, but not required. Strong SRE experience is the key requirement.
