Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Web Developer who will be responsible for optimizing our client’s websites to meet and exceed Core Web Vitals (CWV) benchmarks. This role requires a deep understanding of web performance best practices, particularly in the context of WordPress and PHP development. The successful candidate will work closely with development and design teams to ensure that our client’s websites are not only visually stunning but also lightning-fast and responsive.
As the Web Developer specializing in Core Web Vitals and web performance, you will play a pivotal role in our client’s team. You will act as the go-to reference person for all matters related to web performance. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also be responsible for reviewing code and mentoring developers in the performance area, ensuring that our team continuously improves in this crucial aspect.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CWV optimization strategies into new and existing web projects.
• Conduct thorough audits of websites to identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Implement best practices for optimizing page load times, reducing server response times, and improving overall website performance.
• Utilize tools like Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, and WebPageTest to assess and monitor CWV metrics.
• Lead the development and implementation of performance-focused coding practices in WordPress and PHP.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues, such as slow queries, excessive resource usage, and render-blocking resources.
• Act as the primary reference person for web performance within the team, providing expertise and guidance.
• Review code to ensure it adheres to web performance best practices.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers on performance optimization techniques.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in web performance and CWV.
• By taking on these additional responsibilities, you will help us maintain a culture of excellence in web performance and contribute to the growth and success of our development team.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven track record of optimizing websites for Core Web Vitals (CWV) and web performance.
• Extensive experience with WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Expertise in using performance analysis tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and server-side caching.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
